NEW: The IRS takes new steps to ensure people with children receive $500 Economic Impact Payments. August 14th: If you started receiving Social Security (retirement, survivors, disability) or Supplemental Security Income (SSI) before January 1, 2020, you did not file a tax return in 2019 or 2018, and you have a qualifying child under 17, the IRS has extended its deadline until September 30, 2020 for you to enter information in its IRS’ Non-Filer Tool.  Please read the IRS’ August 14 press release for more details about its new deadline to use its IRS’ Non-Filer Tool.
